
The Eldoret National Polytechnic has reaffirmed its commitment to environmental conservation. On June 11, 2025, Deputy Principal Mr. Paul Seurey and Dean of Students Mr. Reuben Chemitei planted a tree alongside first-year student Tabitha Bwana Kongara.
Tabitha, who is passionate about environmental conservation, donated the tree. She is a member of Mother Earth, a global organization focused on protecting the environment.
Official Statement
The institution, through its official social media platforms, noted that school administration presided over the event.
“The Deputy Principal Mr Paul Seurey and the Dean of Students Mr. Reuben Chemitei, yesterday 11th June 2025 planted a tree with Tabitha Kongara, a first year student who is passionate about environmental conservation.” read the statement in part.
The statement also stressed that Tabitha, a member of the global organisation: Mother Earth, donated the tree signaling is unwavering love for environmental conversation.
“The tree was donated by the student who is a member of Mother Earth, a global organization that works towards environmental conservation.” wrote the institution on their official social media accounts.
Leadership and Presence

Also present at the event were the Environment Officer and the Deputy Dean of the City Campus, Madam Christabel Sheri. The event took place just days after World Environment Day, observed globally on June 5.
Polytechnic’s Green Vision
This activity is part of the institution’s wider efforts to promote sustainability and environmental awareness. These goals are supported by the leadership of Chief Principal Dr. Charles Koech, who also chairs the Governing Council.
