Kenei Intensifies Grassroots Drive with Kamagut Consultative Meeting

Sugoi Gaa, Turbo  Uasin Gishu gubernatorial aspirant Willy Kenei has intensified his grassroots engagement ahead of the 2027 General Elections, holding a consultative meeting with opinion leaders from Kamagut Ward in Turbo Constituency.

Kenei held the meeting at Sugoi Gaa, where he presented his vision for a more prosperous, inclusive and transformed Uasin Gishu County.

The aspirant, who is the Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KNCCI) Uasin Gishu Chairman and a governance expert, said his agenda will focus on strengthening public services, expanding opportunities for young people, supporting farmers and local businesses, attracting investment and ensuring development reaches all communities across the county.

He said the Kamagut meeting was also an opportunity to listen to residents and community leaders, noting that their views, concerns and aspirations would be important in shaping his approach to leadership.

Kenei emphasised the need for leadership that remains accessible and responsive, arguing that development should be guided by the realities and priorities of communities at the grassroots.

According to Kenei, the future of Uasin Gishu should be built through dialogue, unity and practical action, with leaders and residents working together to identify challenges and develop sustainable solutions.

He said the engagement in Kamagut was part of his broader efforts to consult communities across the county as he prepares to seek the gubernatorial seat in 2027. Kenei is among individuals seeking to unseat Governor Jonathan Bii Chelilim in 2027.

“Kamagut has spoken,” Kenei said, signalling his intention to continue with grassroots consultations as he seeks support for his political agenda.

The aspirant said his proposed leadership would seek to turn community priorities into tangible development while ensuring that no part of Uasin Gishu is left behind.

The meeting comes as political activity begins to gather momentum in Uasin Gishu ahead of the 2027 General Elections, with various aspirants positioning themselves and engaging residents at the grassroots. The race for the Uasin Gishu governorship has gained fresh momentum following the entry of Kenei, whose candidature is already generating excitement among sections of the county’s business community.
