The tournament, scheduled to run from November 6 to November 8, 2026, is expected to attract 118 golfers competing for the coveted title and valuable points as the national amateur golf season approaches its final stages.

Eldoret’s leading golfers will be hoping to take advantage of home-course familiarity to deliver strong performances against a competitive field featuring some of the region’s finest amateur players.

The competition will be staged at the par-71 Eldoret Golf Club, a nine-hole course that is expected to provide an exciting test for participants throughout the three days.

According to the tournament entry list, the field includes golfers from Kenya and neighbouring countries, with international participation from Uganda and Rwanda adding to the competition.

Among the players expected to feature are Elvis Muigua, Josphat Rono, Hitayezu Jean D’Amour, Felix Dusabe and Rafael Leming’ani.

Their participation is expected to strengthen the quality of the tournament as golfers seek to improve their standings in the KAGC Order of Merit.

The Manchester Salver comes shortly after the Golf Park Open, which produced an impressive performance from 16-year-old Shashwat Harish of Muthaiga Golf Club.

Harish claimed his maiden Kenya Amateur Golf Championship title after finishing the tournament at an impressive 11-under-par total of 199 over three rounds.

The youngster returned scores of 65, 67 and 67 to secure victory by two strokes ahead of John Kamaisi, who finished second on 201.

Rwanda’s Hitayezu Jean D’Amour completed the podium after posting a total of 207.

His appearance among the leading players at the Golf Park Open further underlined the growing regional competitiveness of the amateur golf circuit.

With the Manchester Salver now providing another opportunity for golfers to collect crucial ranking points, attention will turn to how the leading contenders perform over the three days in Eldoret.

The tournament also highlights Eldoret’s growing contribution to Kenya’s sporting calendar, with the city continuing to host major competitions across different sporting disciplines.

For local golf enthusiasts, the Manchester Salver offers an opportunity to watch some of the country’s leading amateur golfers compete on home soil while showcasing the region’s place in Kenyan golf.
