Bii Pushes for Timely Funds to Boost County Progress

Governor Jonathan Bii today held a high-level meeting with the Controller of Budget, Dr. Margaret Nyakang’o, at her office in Nairobi.

The meeting focused on aligning financial planning with Uasin Gishu County’s development goals.Governor Bii said the conversation was productive and timely. It centered on key budget priorities. The main agenda was securing funds for ongoing and multi-year projects.

We discussed the urgent need for timely disbursement of funds. This is vital for effective service delivery and meaningful development in our county.” Noted the governor in a statement he shared online.

Addressing Delays and Accountability

The Governor stressed that delays in funding can stall essential services. He said such delays affect the lives of ordinary citizens. His administration is committed to ensuring that every shilling is spent wisely.

Progress in Key Sectors

He shared updates on county progress in infrastructure, health, agriculture, and youth programs. He noted that predictable funding is key to completing projects and starting new ones.

Assurance from Controller of Budget

Dr. Nyakang’o assured him of continued support. She emphasized the need for counties to follow budget laws and reporting procedures. This, she said, helps ensure a smooth and transparent funding process.

Governor Bii welcomed this support. He said good coordination between national and county offices is essential.
