
The County Government of Uasin Gishu is set to distribute high-value coffee seedlings to local farmers. This is part of its efforts to transform agriculture and boost agribusiness.The event will take place on Tuesday, 10th June 2025, at 9:30 a.m. The venue is Nyaru Nursery in Kuinet/Kapsuswa and Soy Ward, Soy Sub-County.
Leading the Way

The event will be hosted by H.E. Dr. Jonathan Bii Chelilim, E.G.H, Governor of Uasin Gishu County. Governor Bii has been a strong champion of coffee farming across the region.He has led campaigns to introduce coffee as a profitable crop in an area traditionally known for maize and wheat.The guest of honour will be H.E. Hon. Joshua Wakahora Irungu, E.G.H, Governor of Laikipia County. He is also a passionate supporter of agricultural development.
The event theme is: “Seeds of Change: Transforming Agriculture with High-Value Crops.” Coffee is a long-term, high-income crop. It opens doors to better markets, including exports. This move will help farmers diversify and boost their income.
