Uasin Gishu County Renews Partnership with Moi University for Development

The Uasin Gishu County Government has renewed its partnership with Moi University to boost development, academic collaboration, and community engagement.

On Friday, March 21, 2025, Moi University’s delegation, led by Acting Vice-Chancellor Professor Kiplagat Kotut, met with Uasin Gishu Governor Dr. Jonathan Bii Chelilim. The meeting focused on the upcoming International Conference on Renewable Energy, Climate Change, and Ecosystem Restoration. The conference will take place from April 22 to April 25, 2025, at Eka Hotel, Eldoret, under the theme: “Towards the Sustainability of Our Ecosystems.”

During the meeting, both institutions reaffirmed their commitment to working together. They signed an intent to cooperate, paving the way for renewing their Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). This agreement sets the stage for joint projects aligned with their strategic goals.

Governor Bii emphasized that the partnership will support sustainable ecosystem management and urban planning. He also praised Moi University as a center of academic excellence in the region.

“Moi University remains a pillar of academic excellence, and we look forward to impactful collaboration,” he wrote on his Facebook page.

The renewed partnership aims to drive research, innovation, and policy development. It will also promote skills development, knowledge exchange, and sustainable community projects. These initiatives will benefit both students and local residents.

With this strengthened alliance, Moi University and the Uasin Gishu County Government are set to implement transformative programs. Their joint efforts will contribute to regional growth and sustainable development.
