
In a bold move to improve infrastructure and uplift residents’ quality of life, the Uasin Gishu County Government, under the leadership of Governor Dr. Jonathan Bii, has placed road development at the forefront of its growth agenda.
For the 2025/2026 financial year, the County has allocated approximately Kshs. 2.595 billion toward road construction and maintenance. Notably, Kshs. 415 million will go to flagship infrastructure projects under the Nguzo Kumi Agenda, specifically Pillar Six: Infrastructure Development.
PRIORITIZING ECONOMIC GROWTH & SOCIAL TRANSFORMATION
According to County Executive Committee Member (CECM) for Roads, Dr. Abraham Serem, the substantial allocation is a deliberate step towards transformative growth
“This investment will ensure the timely completion of key infrastructure projects and catalyze economic growth, urban development, and social transformation,” said Dr. Serem.
DIGITAL SHIFT FOR EFFICIENCY AND TRANSPARENCY
On Tuesday, Roads Chief Officer Geoffrey Tanui and County Roads Director Engineer Julius Ronoh convened a planning meeting with sub-county engineers to chart the implementation plan.Chief Officer Tanui also introduced a new online project management system aimed at enhancing efficiency, transparency, and effective monitoring of road projects.
