Ready for the Ultimate Volleyball Clash? 186 Teams Compete

Kipchumba Karori Volleyball Tournament is set to return in December with a record turnout, as more than 186 teams prepare for the second edition in Uasin Gishu County.

The growth of the event has strengthened its place as one of the region’s most active volleyball competitions, drawing players, coaches, and fans from across the country.

Expanding interest among schools

The field features a large number of teams from universities, secondary schools, and primary schools.

Their involvement highlights the tournament’s goal of opening more doors for young athletes. It also helps students gain experience in a demanding setting.

Organizers say this gives scouts a better chance to identify gifted players early. They add that the presence of learning institutions continues to shape the event into a stable pipeline for future champions.

Many teams return after strong runs last year, and others enter the tournament for the first time in search of wider exposure.

Categories built for fairness

The contest will run under four groups. These include Elite Teams, Self-Supporting Teams, University and Secondary Schools, and Primary Schools.

The structure allows both seasoned clubs and rising sides from grassroots programs to compete with confidence. It also gives each team a fair chance to advance.

The design of the categories has become a key factor in the growth of the event, and teams now consider it one of the most balanced volleyball contests in East Africa.

Rising excitement ahead of prize reveal

Excitement continues to grow as teams wait for the prize announcement set for December 5, 2025.

Coaches say the suspense has added new energy to training sessions. Players remain eager to learn what the top performers will take home.

The organizing team confirms that interest in the prize reveal is higher than last year, showing how fast the tournament has gained standing among volleyball fans and clubs.

Draws and match schedule

The official draws will take place on December 18 at Starbucks Hotel in Eldoret. These will set fixtures, pools, and the final match schedule.

Teams expect tough contests once the three-day event begins at The Eldoret National Polytechnic from December 19 to 21.More than 20,000 spectators are expected.

Organizers say fans should prepare for fast play, strong rivalry, and a lively atmosphere as teams battle for honor in one of the region’s fastest-growing sporting events.
