The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has announced a nationwide recruitment drive for temporary jobs under the Enhanced Continuous Voter Registration (ECVR) exercise, signaling a renewed push to strengthen Kenya’s electoral process at the grassroots level.
According to the commission, the temporary positions are meant to support the 30-day ECVR exercise, which will be conducted at ward level across the country. The recruitment targets three key roles:
1.Voter Registration Assistants,
2.Voter Registration Clerks, and
3.ICT Clerks.
These roles are critical in ensuring eligible Kenyans are registered accurately and efficiently ahead of future electoral milestones.
IEBC has emphasized that the positions are short-term and operational, focused on voter registration support rather than permanent employment. Youths have been strongly encouraged to apply, reflecting the commission’s intent to involve young people directly in the democratic process while offering them practical work experience.
Applications are being accepted exclusively through the official IEBC recruitment portal, with the commission cautioning members of the public against relying on unofficial links or third-party agents. IEBC has repeatedly warned that any recruitment communication outside its official platforms should be treated as fraudulent.
The application deadline for the ECVR temporary jobs is March 4, giving interested candidates a limited window to submit their applications. Successful applicants will be deployed to wards within their local areas, a move aimed at improving accessibility, efficiency, and community trust during the voter registration process.
This recruitment comes at a time when public interest in voter registration and electoral preparedness is rising, particularly among young voters. By rolling out ward-level opportunities, IEBC is not only enhancing voter registration capacity but also reinforcing civic participation at the community level.
Applicants are advised to carefully review job requirements and submit accurate information through https://jobs.iebc.or.ke to be considered.
