Police in Uasin Gishu County are investigating the death of a 68-year-old man whose body was recovered from River Sosiani in Turbo Sub-County more than two weeks after he was reported missing.

The body of David Tuluzo was discovered by a fisherman, who alerted authorities after spotting human remains floating in the river. Police officers responded to the scene and found the body in an advanced state of decomposition. Relatives later identified the deceased as Tuluzo, who had been reported missing on June 17, 2026, prompting police to circulate a missing person alert.

Crime scene investigators documented the area before the body was moved to the Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital mortuary in Eldoret. Police said a post-mortem examination will be conducted to establish the cause of death as detectives continue investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.

In a separate case, police in Murang’a County have opened an investigation after a 62-year-old man was found dead along a roadside in Murang’a East Sub-County.

The deceased, identified as George Kibobo, was discovered by relatives beneath a small tree in Township Location on Monday evening. The matter was reported to Murang’a Police Station, and officers who visited the scene said the body had no visible external injuries.

Scenes of Crime personnel processed the area and documented evidence before the body was transferred to the Murang’a Level Five Hospital mortuary. A post-mortem examination is expected to determine the cause of death, while detectives continue with investigations.

Meanwhile, police in Mandera County have launched a manhunt for a suspect following the death of an Ethiopian herdsman who allegedly sustained fatal head injuries during an assault in Elwak.

According to police, the victim, identified only as Guye, died while receiving treatment at Elwak Sub-County Referral Hospital after he was allegedly attacked during a dispute on Sunday evening in Wargadud Township.

Preliminary investigations indicate that the suspect, who is also an Ethiopian national, allegedly struck the victim on the head with a rungu following a disagreement. The injured man was rushed to hospital but succumbed to his injuries the following day.

Police officers visited the scene, documented evidence and launched investigations into the incident. The body is awaiting a post-mortem examination, while detectives continue searching for the suspect, who remains at large.

Authorities said investigations into all three deaths are ongoing, with post-mortem examinations expected to provide crucial information on the causes of death and assist detectives in determining the circumstances surrounding each case.
