In a statement released on its social media pages, The Noble Hotel & Conference Centre has accused individuals associated with Sahara Afrohouse Movement of spreading allegations and rumours that it says are intended to damage the hotel’s reputation and that of one of its directors.
The statement, dated July 13, 2026, said the hotel has maintained for more than 15 years that business partnerships and disputes should be handled confidentially and resolved through proper professional and legal channels.
According to the Board of Directors, individuals closely associated with Sahara have been circulating what the hotel described as false accusations. The hotel said it viewed the situation as a calculated attempt to provoke it into a public dispute but maintained that it would not participate in a public exchange.
“The Board of Directors has handed this matter entirely over to our legal counsel,” the statement reads.
The hotel added that it would rely on facts and allow the legal process to establish the truth. However, the statement did not disclose the specific allegations being challenged, identify the individuals allegedly responsible or explain what caused the apparent breakdown in relations.
The development marks a sharp turn in what had been a longstanding and seemingly mutually beneficial relationship between The Noble Hotel and Sahara .
For an extended period, The Noble provided a venue for Sahara’s recurring entertainment experiences, while Sahara attracted large audiences and helped position the hotel as a major destination for nightlife and large-scale events in Eldoret. The relationship appears to have ended prematurely, although neither party has publicly provided a full account of what led to the fallout.
Sahara is a popular recurring Afrohouse and electronic music event known as “Eldoret’s home of Afrohouse.” The experience brings together music, culture and community, featuring prominent Kenyan and international DJs.
It has hosted what organisers describe as Eldoret’s biggest Afrohouse event to date, including performances by DJs from South Africa.
The Noble Hotel reassured customers and partners that the dispute would not interrupt its operations. At the time of publication, Sahara had not issued a detailed public response to the hotel’s allegations. The claims therefore remain contested, with no independent determination made regarding either party’s responsibility.
