The Export Processing Zone Authority (EPZA) Flagship Project in Eldoret City is nearing completion, with modern industrial sheds now ready for occupation after the connection of key infrastructure, including electricity, water, waste management system and tarmac roads.
This was revealed by Willy Kenei, Member Representative, Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KNCCI), who made a courtesy visit to the project site to assess construction progress.
In a statement shared 16 hours ago, Kenei said the construction of the modern industrial sheds is paving the way for investors to take up the available spaces and commence manufacturing operations.

Electricity, Water, Waste Management System and Tarmac road is already Connected to the Modern Industrial Sheds ready for occupation,” Kenei noted.
The Eldoret EPZ project, located in Kenya’s newest city, is expected to be a major economic catalyst for Uasin Gishu and the wider North Rift region. According to Kenei, once fully operational, the project will create thousands of direct and indirect employment opportunities, stimulate local enterprise development and attract a wide range of support industries and services.
“It will also provide a major boost to value addition, manufacturing and export-oriented production in Uasin Gishu and the wider North Rift region,” he said.
The Export Processing Zones program is a key pillar of Kenya’s industrialization agenda, providing investors with a highly supportive and incentivized environment. This includes significant tax and other investment incentives designed to encourage manufacturing, value addition and the production of export-oriented goods, such as 10-year corporate tax holiday, exemption from import duty and VAT on machinery and raw materials, and one-stop-shop licensing.
Kenei used the visit to call on investors to seize the opportunity.
“I encouraged local and international investors, manufacturers and entrepreneurs to take advantage of the available industrial spaces and invest in Eldoret,” he said.
He described the EPZA Eldoret project as a significant milestone in positioning the region as a competitive manufacturing and investment hub, while creating sustainable jobs and expanding economic opportunities.

The project comes at a time when Eldoret City is positioning itself as a logistics and agro-processing hub, leveraging its proximity to agricultural-rich counties, the Eldoret International Airport, and the Northern Corridor. Stakeholders expect the EPZ to boost value addition for maize, wheat, dairy, and horticultural produce, which are abundant in the region.
Business leaders in Uasin Gishu have welcomed the progress, noting that the operationalization of the EPZ will complement other ongoing investments in industrial parks and special economic zones across the county.
