Politrack Poll: Julius Bitok Leads Jonathan Bii in Uasin Gishu Governor Race

Tourism Principal Secretary Amb. Prof. Julius Bitok has taken the lead in the latest Politrack Africa opinion poll on the 2027 Uasin Gishu gubernatorial contest.

The poll released on October 3, 2026, places Bitok at 39 per cent, ahead of incumbent Governor Dr. Jonathan Bii Chelilim, who records 23 per cent.

Businessman and politician Zedekiah Buzeki Kiprop Bundotich follows with 16 per cent, while Gideon Kipng’etich Nyokosei has 8 per cent.

Other candidates recorded 4 per cent for Dr. Dickson Chemalan, 3 per cent for David Kemei Rotuk and 1 per cent for Dr. Abraham Kipkemboi Serem. The poll shows 7 per cent of respondents undecided, while 2 per cent selected other candidates.

The figures give Bitok a 16-percentage-point difference over Bii in the survey.

The latest findings follow an earlier Politrack survey reported in August, which also placed Bitok ahead of Bii, although the percentages were different. That survey recorded Bitok at 37.3 per cent, Bii at 25.9 per cent and Buzeki at 18.7 per cent.

The October poll reflects voter preferences at the time respondents were surveyed and does not constitute a prediction of the 2027 election outcome.
