“Eldoret is open for business,” Governor Bii stated. “Through smart partnerships and competitive incentives, we are creating an enabling environment that encourages innovation and long-term investment.”

Eldoret, Kenya – April 2025
Uasin Gishu Governor Jonathan Bii has reaffirmed his administration’s strategic focus on transforming Eldoret into a global business destination. In a high-level meeting with the Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KNCCI), Eldoret Chapter, Governor Bii engaged with Chamber Chair Willy Kenei to discuss the region’s investment potential and ongoing economic development efforts.

The meeting, held in preparation for the upcoming Eldoret International Business Summit, focused on strengthening public-private collaboration and enhancing the business environment in the county. Governor Bii emphasized the county’s commitment to supporting entrepreneurship and unlocking new growth opportunities for both local and international investors.

Key infrastructure projects featured prominently in the discussions. These include the development of the Export Processing Zone (EPZ) and the County Aggregation and Industrial Park (CAIP)—two flagship initiatives expected to drive regional industrialization, job creation, and export growth. The Governor noted that these projects are already attracting interest from investors across various sectors including manufacturing, agribusiness, logistics, and technology.

“Eldoret is open for business,” Governor Bii stated. “Through smart partnerships and competitive incentives, we are creating an enabling environment that encourages innovation and long-term investment.”

The engagement with KNCCI is part of broader stakeholder consultations as the county gears up for the Eldoret International Business Summit, scheduled for April 24th to 26th, 2025. The summit is expected to attract hundreds of delegates including investors, government leaders, development partners, and business executives from across Kenya and beyond.

The Eldoret International Business Summit will serve as a premier platform for networking, investment promotion, and showcasing the region’s untapped potential. With a focus on trade, innovation, and infrastructure development, the event aims to position Uasin Gishu as a competitive player in regional and global markets.

The County Government of Uasin Gishu continues to prioritize economic transformation by investing in key sectors and fostering an ecosystem where businesses can thrive. By working closely with institutions like KNCCI, the county seeks to unlock new value chains and ensure inclusive growth for residents.
