DCI Rallies Intelligence-Led Strategy to Dismantle Transnational Crime Networks

The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) is scaling up its fight against transnational organised crime through intelligence-led investigations, enhanced inter-agency cooperation, and technology.

This was revealed during the security panel at the 2026 Mashujaa Day Thematic Week Exhibition currently underway at the Eldoret National Polytechnic.

Speaking on behalf of the Director DCI, the Director Investigation Bureau (IB) at DCI Headquarters, Francis Ndiema, HSC, SAIG, said the complex and cross-border nature of modern crime requires a unified, whole-of-government approach.

Ndiema said effective intelligence sharing, functional intelligence committees, and joint, coordinated operations are key to tracing, disrupting and neutralizing criminal networks that attempt to exploit Kenya’s borders for illicit activities.

He stressed that close collaboration among security agencies remains critical in strengthening national security and ensuring a timely, coordinated response to emerging threats.

On technology, Ndiema noted that the strategic application of modern investigative tools, supported by actionable intelligence, is essential to outpace increasingly sophisticated criminal enterprises.

The panel provided a platform to sensitise the public, particularly the youth, on emerging security threats and evolving criminal trends.

The DCI reaffirmed its resolve to continue detecting, investigating and disrupting criminal activities, dismantling organized networks, and bringing perpetrators to justice.
