IEBC Offices in Eldoret: Where to Register as a Voter in Uasin Gishu County

Voter registration remains a critical pillar of Kenya’s democratic process, and residents of Eldoret now have clear guidance on where to register and update their voter details. The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) operates constituency offices across Uasin Gishu County, ensuring that eligible voters can access registration services close to where they live.

For residents of Soy Constituency, the IEBC office is located at Meadows Plaza, opposite Sirikwa Hotel. In Turbo, voter services are available within the NCCK North Headquarters in the West Indies area. Moiben Constituency voters can visit the Kimumu Ward Administrative Offices in Ainabkoi, Eldoret Town, while Ainabkoi Constituency residents will find the IEBC office adjacent to the Eldoret East District Headquarters, off Kapsoya Road in Kapsoya Estate.

Those in Kapseret Constituency can register inside the RCEA Ushirika Church compound along Eldoret–Kisumu Road, opposite Hills School. Meanwhile, Kesses Constituency voters are served at the Jamboni Complex near the Deputy County Commissioner’s office, close to Moi University Law School.

These IEBC offices in Eldoret handle voter registration during officially announced registration periods, as well as voter transfers, replacement of lost voter cards, and updates of voter details. Eligible voters must be Kenyan citizens aged 18 years and above and in possession of a valid national identification card.

Speaking on voter participation, David Kiplagat, the Member of Parliament for Soy Constituency, emphasized the importance of accessibility in the registration process.

“IEBC voter registration is a continuous process that will run until eight months before the 2027 elections. Polling stations should be made accessible so that voters do not lose interest or the appetite,” Kiplagat said during an interview on TV 47 in October 2025.

While the law allows for continuous voter registration, the IEBC typically conducts registration during specific windows announced publicly. Residents are therefore encouraged to follow official IEBC updates or visit their nearest constituency office to confirm when registration is active.

As Eldoret continues to grow, with thousands of young people reaching voting age each year, timely voter registration ensures that no eligible citizen is left out of future elections. Registering early not only secures one’s right to vote but also strengthens democratic participation at the constituency, county, and national levels.
