President William Ruto attended a church service at African Inland Church (AIC) in Kesses, Uasin Gishu County, during its 8th Anniversary celebration. He commended the church for its progress and pledged continued support despite public criticism.

Accompanied by Uasin Gishu Governor Jonathan Bii, Kapseret Member of Parliament Oscar Sudi, and area legislator Julius Ruto, among other leaders, President Ruto lauded the church’s development efforts. He donated KSh 20 million and reaffirmed his commitment to supporting religious institutions.
Commitment to Religious Support
President Ruto addressed concerns regarding opposition to church donations, stating that Kenya remains a nation of faith.
“There is strong opposition to giving in churches, but as the President of Kenya, I assure you that this nation will know God. We are committed to building churches. Those who oppose the construction of places of worship will not succeed,” said President Ruto.
His remarks follow recent discussions surrounding his KSh 20 million donation to Jesus Winner Ministry in Roysambu. He emphasized that national unity should take precedence over personal ambitions.
Call for National Unity
The leaders present praised President Ruto’s efforts to unify the nation, particularly his engagement with opposition leader Raila Odinga. Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi highlighted the importance of moving beyond ethnic divisions.

“We should go beyond ethnic lines and operate as one nation,” said Sudi.
President Ruto reiterated that fostering unity is essential for national progress and urged leaders to focus on serving the people.
