Safaricom Foundation Unveils Ndoto Zetu Phase 7 with KES 600 Million Boost

Safaricom Foundation has officially launched Phase 7 of its flagship programme, Ndoto Zetu, committing an impressive KES 600 million to help over one million Kenyans realize their community dreams.

This latest phase deepens the Foundation’s mission to transform lives in health, education, and economic empowerment across all 47 counties.

The launch event was held at Eldoret Special School in Uasin Gishu County, where the Foundation donated knitting machines and materials to strengthen the school’s vocational unit. The equipment will help learners create hand-crafted items for sale—equipping them with skills and tools for financial independence.

“With Ndoto Zetu, we are inspired by everyday Kenyans who dare to dream not just for themselves, but for their communities,” said Safaricom CEO Dr. Peter Ndegwa. “As we launch Phase 7, we are walking this journey with you, because when your dream lifts others, it becomes our dream too.”

Since its inception in 2019, the Ndoto Zetu initiative has delivered over 1,820 projects, positively impacting more than three million Kenyans. In the past year alone, 400 new projects were implemented—294 in education52 in health, and 54 in economic empowerment—addressing grassroots needs from classrooms to clinics.

Alongside the Ndoto Zetu expansion, the M-Pesa Foundation has launched the Wezesha Mama Programme in the Rift region. In partnership with Hand-in-Hand, the programme is empowering women’s groups through training, funding, and business resources—accelerating local economic resilience and gender inclusion.
