Soy United FC and Chema VC earn national league promotions after stellar campaigns

Two Kenyan sports clubs, Soy United FC and Chema Volleyball Club, have secured promotion to national-level competitions after outstanding performances in their respective leagues during the 2024/2025 season.

Soy United FC clears final hurdle to join FKF National Super League

Soy United Football Club, based in Kitale, has officially been promoted to the FKF National Super League for the 2025/2026 season. The Football Kenya Federation (FKF) confirmed the team’s advancement in a letter dated June 30, 2025.

The club’s promotion had been delayed by an appeal lodged by Gucha Stars, who contested a three-point deduction after fielding an ineligible player. Following a disciplinary review, the FKF Appeals Committee upheld the penalty, thereby clearing the way for Soy United’s elevation.

“Soy United FC have indeed shown that by working hard, playing fair, and showing discipline in our competitive FKF Men Division One League, a team can register success,” FKF General Secretary Harold Ndege wrote in the letter. He also extended congratulations to players, coaches, management, and fans for their joint efforts.

Fans celebrate as Soy United plans for next level

Following the official communication, celebrations broke out in Kitale as fans and club officials praised the team’s perseverance through both on-field and legal battles. The club has already begun making strategic plans to strengthen its squad and meet the demands of competing at the second tier of Kenyan football.

Team officials hinted at new player signings and enhanced preseason training, with an emphasis on maintaining discipline and competitiveness.

Chema Volleyball Club advances to KVF National Men’s League

Meanwhile, Chema Volleyball Club from Juja has earned its place in the elite Kenya Volleyball Federation (KVF) National Men’s League for the 2025/2026 season. In a letter dated July 18, 2025, the KVF commended the team for its stellar performance in the recently concluded Division Two League.

“The Federation has duly recognized your achievement and is proud to welcome your club into the elite ranks of national volleyball competition,” wrote John Oronje, National Sports Organizing Secretary.

Oronje described Chema VC’s performance as a “testament to hard work, discipline, and competitive spirit.”

Chema VC eyes national stage with confidence

Chema VC’s management expressed pride in the promotion and vowed to continue investing in training and talent development. Team Manager Evans Waweru said the call-up to the top league is not only a reward but also a challenge to grow further.

The club has already resumed training with a renewed focus on conditioning, game strategy, and expanding community outreach to build local support and attract sponsorship.

Promotions boost local sports development in Kenya

The promotions of Soy United FC and Chema VC have been hailed as major victories for grassroots sports development in Kenya. Both clubs have demonstrated the strength of regional competitions as platforms for discovering and elevating homegrown talent.

Analysts note that such success stories inspire younger athletes and bring national attention to sports programs beyond the traditional powerhouses.

Communities rally behind promoted teams

In both Kitale and Juja, the communities have rallied behind their teams. Soy United FC’s promotion has renewed enthusiasm for football in Trans-Nzoia County, while Chema VC’s rise to national prominence is energizing volleyball fans and young athletes in Kiambu County.

The teams are now preparing for their toughest seasons yet. With national attention, increased expectations, and stronger competition, both Soy United FC and Chema VC aim to prove they belong among Kenya’s top clubs.

As the 2025/2026 season kicks off, Kenyan sports enthusiasts will be closely watching their progress, hopeful that these grassroots champions can deliver yet another chapter of success.
