Eldoret Hosts SportPesa National Pool Circuit as 200 Players Battle for Glory

Eldoret has taken centre stage in Kenya’s competitive pool scene as the 2026 SportPesa National Pool Circuit gets underway at Timba XO Bar & Grill, bringing together 20 teams and nearly 200 players for three days of competition.

The tournament, running from November 6 to 8, 2026, marks the opening leg of a three-stop national circuit that will also visit Nakuru and Mombasa before culminating in the National Finals.

The competition brings together some of the country’s top pool players following successful grassroots and regional championship events that also served as qualification stages.

With teams and individual players competing for national recognition, the Eldoret leg is expected to set the pace for an exciting campaign as participants seek to secure crucial points ahead of the remaining tournaments.

The 20 participating teams have been divided into two groups of 10, with each side looking to establish an early advantage in the race for qualification.

Every team will play three matches at each circuit stop, with accumulated points across the three venues determining the final standings.

Only the top four teams after the Eldoret, Nakuru and Mombasa legs will earn qualification for the National Finals.

The format is expected to make consistency important, as teams will need to collect valuable points at every stop rather than depend on their performance in a single tournament.

Individual Players Also Target National Honours

Apart from the team competition, the SportPesa National Pool Circuit will feature separate men’s and women’s individual categories.

At each of the three venues, one male and one female player will be crowned champions, giving individual competitors an opportunity to claim honours throughout the circuit.

Following the final leg in Mombasa, the top 64 players in the men’s category and the top 32 in the women’s category will advance to the National Finals.

The qualification format is expected to provide a competitive pathway for players seeking to establish themselves among Kenya’s leading pool talents.

Nakuru and Mombasa Next on the Circuit

After the opening competition in Eldoret, the circuit will move to Nakuru from November 20 to 22 before heading to Mombasa for the final leg from December 4 to 6, 2026.

The three venues will provide players with opportunities to accumulate points and strengthen their chances of reaching the National Finals.

The Eldoret competition is particularly significant as the first stage of the national campaign, with participating teams and individuals seeking to build momentum before the remaining fixtures.

The SportPesa National Pool Circuit is part of efforts to strengthen competitive pool in Kenya by providing a structured platform for players to showcase their abilities beyond grassroots and regional competitions.

As action continues at Timba XO Bar & Grill, attention will be on the teams and individual cueists who can make the strongest start in the race for national pool glory.
