DCI Investigates Alleged Organ Trafficking Scandal at Mediheal Hospital in Eldoret

Eldoret, Uasin Gishu County – The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has launched a high-level probe into a disturbing organ trafficking scandal allegedly linked to Mediheal Hospital’s Fertility and Transplant Centre in Eldoret.

The Transnational Organized Crime Unit (TOCU) has taken over the case, signaling the seriousness of the situation. The unit is spearheading a comprehensive investigation into allegations that human organs may have been illegally harvested and trafficked within the region.

Growing Concerns in the North Rift Region

Reports of suspicious transplant activities have surfaced from various parts of the North Rift, prompting authorities to consolidate investigations under one coordinated effort. The DCI is working to re-record statements from alleged victims, medical staff, and potential witnesses.

Advanced forensic analysis will be deployed to support the evidence-gathering process. The DCI is urging anyone with credible information to visit TOCU’s offices at the DCI Headquarters, Block B, Nairobi, and provide their statements.

Mediheal Yet to Issue a Statement

Mediheal Hospital, known for its fertility and transplant services, is one of the most prominent private healthcare providers in the region. As of now, the hospital has not issued any official comment on the matter.

The unfolding scandal has raised public concern about the integrity of medical practices at the facility. Many residents of Eldoret and the surrounding areas have expressed shock, demanding swift and transparent action.

DCI Vows Professional and Thorough Investigation

A spokesperson for the DCI emphasized the agency’s commitment to justice, saying, “We are dedicated to uncovering the truth and ensuring accountability.” The agency aims to conclude the investigation swiftly but professionally, ensuring that both victims and perpetrators receive justice.

The investigation is expected to scrutinize Mediheal’s fertility and transplant programs in detail. Organ trafficking is classified as a serious transnational crime and carries severe legal consequences for those found guilty.
