Lelmokwo Farm Electrification Project Now 85% Complete

Rural Homes Step Into the Light

For years, many households in Uasin Gishu lived without electricity. Darkness was the norm after sunset. But that’s changing—one village at a time.

Power to the People

The County Government, under Governor Jonathan Bii, is rolling out the Stima Mashinani program. It aims to connect remote villages to the power grid.

Lelmokwo Project Nears Completion

At Lelmokwo Farm in Tulwet/Chuiyat Ward, the project is 85% complete. Over 511 residents will soon have electricity in their homes and businesses.

A Message from the Governor

“Through our progressive Stima Mashinani program, we are now bridging this gap one village at a time,” said Governor Bii in a post shared on his social media. “We are steadily making strides and transforming lives across all our six sub-counties.”

Real Work on the Ground

Electric poles are up. Transformers are being installed. Technicians are working fast. The goal is simple—bring light and opportunity to the people.

Hope for Families

With electricity, school children can study under proper lighting. Small business owners will extend their working hours. Homes will access modern appliances.

This is more than just a utility project. It’s a sign of inclusion. A commitment to development for all, not just urban areas.

The Stima Mashinani program is part of a broader plan to uplift rural communities. By powering up villages like Lelmokwo, the county is lighting the path to a better future.

As the grid nears completion, residents are filled with hope. In Uasin Gishu, the light is finally coming home.
