TENP hosts GIZ and GFA in skills development visit

On Friday, July 4, 2025, the Eldoret National Polytechnic (TENP) hosted officials from GIZ and GFA Consulting Group for a formal monitoring visit aimed at evaluating the ongoing implementation of the Dual TVET Programme.The institution was honoured to welcome Mr. Gideon Murenga, Senior TVET and Labour Markets Advisor at GIZ, and Mr. Kevin Rotich from GFA Consulting Group.

They were received by Dr. Charles Koech, DHL, OGW, Chief Principal of TENP, Dr. Paul Murgor, Chairman of the Governing Council, and Heads of Departments overseeing the Dual Training Programmes.

The purpose of the visit was to assess the progress of the Dual TVET model, focusing on trainee enrolment, industry placements, and the overall effectiveness of the programme. The Dual TVET approach integrates classroom learning with hands-on industry experience, helping trainees acquire job-relevant skills.

The evaluation also sought to enhance inclusive and sustainable skills development by strengthening partnerships between training institutions and industry players.

TENP’s leadership reaffirmed its commitment to delivering quality, industry-relevant training and fostering partnerships that align with Kenya’s TVET reform agenda.
