Uasin Gishu Governor Jonathan Bii Reaffirms Development Commitment in Ziwa Township

Uasin Gishu County Governor Jonathan Bii visited Ziwa Township on Sunday in a bid to reassure residents of his administration’s commitment to inclusive growth and development across the region.

Ziwa is among six townships earmarked for elevation to municipal status, a transformative move expected to spur infrastructure growth, attract investment, and improve service delivery to the people of Ziwa and beyond.

During the tour, Governor Bii engaged with community leaders, local traders, and residents, highlighting key milestones already achieved under his leadership. He emphasized that the upgrade of Ziwa into a municipality is not just a symbolic change but a strategic step toward real, on-the-ground transformation.

“This transformation will pave the way for better and more accessible services for our hardworking residents,” Governor Bii stated in a post shared across his social media platforms.

What the Municipal Upgrade Means for Ziwa

The planned Ziwa Township development comes with a host of benefits for the community, including:

  • Improved road infrastructure and drainage systems
  • Enhanced access to clean water and sanitation
  • Establishment of modern markets and business hubs
  • Upgraded health and educational facilities
  • Job creation through new public and private sector projects

The county government aims to create a sustainable urban environment that supports local businesses while improving the quality of life for residents.

Residents Hopeful as Development Momentum Builds

The Governor’s visit and assurance have ignited a sense of optimism among locals. Many residents believe the municipal status will bring government services closer to them, reduce travel costs, and increase economic opportunities in the area.

“This gives us hope that our children will grow up in a well-planned town with real opportunities,” said one resident during the governor’s address.

As the county moves ahead with plans to elevate Ziwa, residents are encouraged to stay engaged, provide feedback, and participate in shaping their township’s future.

Final Thoughts

Governor Bii’s ongoing tours and transparent communication demonstrate a clear intent to foster inclusive and community-led development. As Ziwa Township edges closer to municipal status, the groundwork being laid today promises a brighter, more prosperous tomorrow for its residents.
