ELDOWAS Announces Six Board Vacancies, Invites Applications From Eldoret Stakeholders

The Eldoret Water and Sanitation Company (ELDOWAS) has announced six vacancies on its Board of Directors, opening up opportunities for business owners, professionals, residents’ associations and representatives of persons living with disabilities in Uasin Gishu County.

In a recruitment notice issued on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, the Uasin Gishu County Government invited qualified residents from the ELDOWAS service area to apply for the positions as part of efforts to promote public participation and inclusivity in the management of essential water and sanitation services.

The county government, which is the principal shareholder of ELDOWAS, said the recruitment exercise is intended to give communities served by the company an opportunity to participate in decisions affecting service delivery.

“In accordance with Article 174 of the Constitution of Kenya, to ensure the public served has an opportunity to participate in decision-making in service delivery that affects them, Uasin Gishu County Government, who is the Principal Shareholder is recruiting Six (6) members of the Board of Directors,” the notice stated.

The six positions have been distributed among different stakeholder groups.

Two slots have been reserved for representatives of business member organisations and the manufacturing sector. Applicants seeking these positions must be nominated by their respective registered stakeholder organisations recognised by ELDOWAS.

Another position will go to a professional from the local community, nominated by a recognised professional body or an equivalent primary stakeholder organisation.

The company is also seeking two representatives from different residents’ associations operating within its area of service.

The sixth position is reserved for a representative of persons living with disabilities who is registered with the National Council for Persons with Disabilities, or a competent youth who meets the stipulated eligibility requirements.

ELDOWAS has directed interested applicants to visit its official website, www.eldowas.or.ke, for detailed information on the qualifications and application procedures.

Applications can be submitted physically in sealed envelopes clearly marked “Application for Board of Director ELDOWAS” or through email at [email protected].

Physical applications should be delivered to the Uasin Gishu County Government Offices.

The deadline for submitting applications is November 30, 2026, at 5:00 p.m.

The company further indicated that shortlisted candidates will be required to present documents demonstrating compliance with Chapter Six of the Constitution, which outlines requirements on leadership and integrity.

The recruitment comes as ELDOWAS continues implementing programmes aimed at expanding water and sanitation infrastructure across Eldoret and its surrounding areas.

Recently, the company announced a sewer connection drive targeting property owners in Sugunanga, Annex and Jamboni under its Last Mile Connectivity Programme.

The initiative is expected to facilitate more household connections to the sewer network, supporting improved sanitation and public health in the growing city of Eldoret.

The appointment of new board members is expected to strengthen stakeholder representation in the management and oversight of water and sanitation services across the company’s area of operation.
