We acknowledge that an error occurred in the presentation of the information, which may have created the impression that the claims had been independently verified by Eldoret Leo.
We also acknowledge that Sahara was not contacted for comment before publication, and we regret this editorial omission.
We clarify that the statements were not our findings, and we did not intend to portray Sahara, its organisers or associated persons as fraudsters, rumour mongers or criminals.
We have removed the publication and retract any wording or impression suggesting that the claims were independently established by Eldoret Leo.
We regret the error and apologise to Sahara for any reputational harm that may have resulted.
This statement is issued in good faith to correct the record, acknowledge the error in presentation and address any harm caused.
